Reflections ...

Hi Class,

I should assume that all of you will be busy with your discipline projects, preparation for common test, or simply busy doing other things.

I am OK with that, as long as all of you still remember that you have a module with me.

I would like you to take just a couple of minutes and think for a little while and reflect what you've been doing since the start of the semester. On a scale of 1 to 10, identify things which you've not done well, and also think about those that you did really well.

With that, set for yourselves objectives - the things which you really want to do and accomplish, in the short term (within 2006) and in the slightly longer term (till you graduate).

Now, reflect and identify what is being needed to help you accomplish these objectives. Translate them into simple verb (action words) that are small enough to accomplish a bit at a time, so that you can strike them off a list once you've gotten them done.

You will realise that this little exercise will put you in better perspective and put more control in your hands. Stress is a result of a loss of control over your own management of yourselves. Time moves on, there's no way you can manage it - so do that which is possible, manage yourselves.

Press on,
max
